George Hacks, a student organization that hosts an annual interdisciplinary hackathon, gave George Washington University students a taste of innovation Wednesday with hand-on activities in the middle of Kogan Plaza during its George Hacks Kogan Makerspace event.

Aimed to inspire GW students of all academic backgrounds to “make, create and innovate,” the event featured several interactive activities including modeling with 3-D pens and printers as well as circuit building workshops. Students also got free George Hack swag and entered a raffle for prizes by participating in a do-it-yourself heart sensor building activity.

Other organizations including the GW Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, GWupstart, GW Data and the Veterans Health Administration tabled at the event to educate students about resources within GW’s innovation ecosystem.
