Open Enrollment Begins Today

Employees have annual opportunity to change benefits elections.

October 9, 2017

Beginning today and through Oct. 27, George Washington University faculty and staff may make changes to their benefits, including health, dental and vision plans, during this year’s Open Enrollment period. Most changes will take effect on Jan. 1, 2018.

Last month, the university announced benefits enhancements to the current and upcoming year. A more detailed Open Enrollment Guide is also now available, and employees have received more information by email.

GW Benefits is holding Open Enrollment fairs on the Foggy Bottom and Virginia Science and Technology campuses this month to offer employees help with personalized questions about their benefits. Flu shots also are available at the fairs at no cost to faculty and staff.

Separate from Open Enrollment, which affects benefits for 2018, employees who are currently covered under a 2017 GW health plan now have access to Castlight, a tool to help find doctors and compare prices on medications and medical services. Employees who sign up for Castlight before Oct. 27 will be entered in a drawing for a $400 Visa® Gift Card.*
