For more than two centuries, members of the George Washington University community have come to Washington, D.C., to take advantage of GW’s unique location and the opportunities and access it provides to advance learning, discovery and impact in our communities and world.
This fall, through an online hub, the university is inviting its community to share stories that demonstrate how GW has empowered them to be steps away from revolutionary scholarship and innovation.
Ten individuals will be selected from among the submissions to receive a pair of limited-edition GW sneakers. Additionally, the student organization whose members submit the most stories will receive $1,000.
This storytelling campaign highlights the ways GW Revs take full advantage of all that the university and Washington, D.C., have to offer.
Students, faculty, staff and alumni can share their experiences through a written story, photo essays and videos.
“GW’s location in the heart of Washington, D.C., is one of our greatest strengths, and this campaign brings that distinctive advantage to life,” said Julie Zito, GW’s associate vice president for marketing. “These stories will demonstrate how GW connects our community with opportunities to engage in meaningful progress.”
Selected stories will be featured on GW’s website, social media and other university communications channels, helping build a collection of experiences that can connect the GW community and showcase the world-class opportunities to discover, influence and learn.
The campaign is part of GW’s refreshed creative brand direction, which centers on the university’s brand promise of “Proximity and Progress,” highlighting GW’s location, its position as D.C.’s largest research university and its long-standing role as a catalyst for knowledge, innovation and impact.
