The Presidential Search Committee on Tuesday released the position profile to be used in recruiting the 19th president of the George Washington University, marking the latest milestone in the search process.
The profile details many of the important qualifications of the next president, the opportunities over the next five years and key information about the university, its constituents and its schools, colleges and programs.
The GW community, Faculty Consultative Committee and the Faculty Senate Executive Committee informed the content of the profile.
“The search committee listened closely to members of our community and found their input extremely helpful in developing a strong position profile,” said Trustee Roslyn Brock, M.S. ’89, chair of the Presidential Search Committee. “We are very grateful for this robust feedback.”
James Tielsch, vice chair of the search committee and a faculty member, added that the “position profile has benefited from great engagement of our students, faculty, staff and alumni.”
“We are encouraged by our progress and want to thank the many individuals who have contributed to this process so far,” he said.
The university launched the nationwide search for the university’s 19th president in May. A Presidential Search Committee is leading the process and recently held forums to hear from stakeholders. The committee is aided by search consultants Ilene H. Nagel, John Simon and Charlie Kaler from Education Executives.
The Presidential Search Committee will continue to update the community as its process continues. Students, faculty, staff and alumni are all key stakeholders in the search for GW’s next president.
