It was grounds for celebration on Friday as the Buff and Brew coffee shop opened in Ames Hall at the Mount Vernon campus.
The café is the next step in George Washington University’s dining transformation. It follows Chartwells Higher Education’s introduction of The Eatery at Pelham Commons, also at the Mount Vernon campus, last fall. The variety of choices at Buff and Brew will fit the new dining experience’s theme of providing students with more culinary options while creating sustainability and community.
“Students can expect a variety of cold brews, lattes, pastries and different sandwiches that they can choose from,” said new Executive Director of Dining Services Douglas Frazier. “So, it's our own GW-branded concept.”
Students can use one of their meals swipes as an exchange for a drink and food item. The store will also take cash or credit, so students, faculty or staff don’t have to be on the dining plan to make a purchase.
