In the midst of finals season, George Washington University students took a moment to step away from their studies to participate in stress-relieving events.

The Colonial Health Center is offering two weeks full of co-sponsored events during the Final Lap, which gives students an opportunity to de-stress and refuel for finals so they can finish the semester strong.

On Tuesday, students used chalk art to express themselves during the annual Chalk-In on H Street. Through chalk drawings GW students shared their love for favorite TV shows, pride for student organizations and words of encouragement for their peers among the playful drawings of animals and flowers.

The CHC provided snacks such as popcorn, watermelon and ice cream bars on the bright and sunny afternoon. There were also stress-relieving toys available, including bubbles, Slinkys and stress balls.

The petting zoo on Friday afternoon, sponsored by the GW Class Council with animals from Squeals on Wheels, brought furry and feathered friends to Square 80. Students had the opportunity to pet goats, chickens, pigs and rabbits among other animals.
