Momix’s ‘Botanica’ Blooms at Lisner Auditorium

International dance company Momix is known for enticing crowds with its intricately choreographed performances that teeter on the surrealist side. Their latest piece, “Botanica,” combines brilliant lighting, hypnotizing costumes and the use of unique props for  a show that teases the eye and plays out like an optical illusion.
 
The artists brought their spellbinding moves to Lisner Auditorium Friday and Saturday. Moving through all four seasons, each number in "Botanica" represented a different facet of nature —from flowers blooming in the spring to crackling thunderstorms lighting the sky.
