George Washington University was ranked highly among hundreds of schools around the country in the U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 list of best graduate schools.
In the list of best public health schools, the Milken Institute School of Public Health was ranked 11th out of 213 public health schools and programs accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health. The following Milken Institute SPH programs also received high specialty rankings:
- sixth in health policy and management
- 12th in social and behavioral sciences
- 13th in environmental health sciences
- 14th in epidemiology
- 16th in biostatistics
GW also received a high ranking for its master’s program in public affairs at the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences’ Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration, coming in 16th out of 271 schools. The following Trachtenberg School specialties also received high marks:
- sixth in international/global policy and administration (tie)
- ninth in public management and leadership
- ninth in homeland security and emergency management
- 13th in public finance and budgeting (tie)
- 16th in social policy
- 17th in nonprofit management
U.S. News highly ranked the following GW graduate programs and specialties as well:
- fifth in intellectual property law
- fifth in rehabilitation counseling
- fifth in physician assistant
- seventh in master's nursing administration
- eight in healthcare management
- ninth in international business
- ninth in international law (tie)
- 16th in clinical training
- 17th in environmental law (tie)
- 19th in health care law
