The George Washington University has released visual identity guidelines for its Revolutionaries moniker that was announced last spring. The Revolutionaries moniker is in its inaugural school year, serving as the name of GW’s athletic teams and unifying identity for the university at-large.
The goal of these guidelines is to help GW community members tell the story of the Revolutionaries in a compelling and cohesive fashion. They aim to empower everyone from GW communicators and merchandise vendors to GW schools, divisions and student groups to properly demonstrate what it means to be part of the GW Revolutionaries.GW Revs are not afraid to break boundaries and change the game. Revolutionaries go beyond what’s conventional or expected and focus on shifting mindsets and creating a new future for themselves and the world.
GW’s new moniker was the result of a robust community engagement process that included 47,000 points of feedback and more than 8,000 moniker suggestions over a 12-month period. These new guidelines are another step in the implementation process to ensure that Revolutionaries is widely adopted and used by the entire GW community.
