GW Medical Faculty Associates Seeks Purchaser for 2300 M Street Building

MFA to sell, lease back the medical office building at 2300 M Street to be better prepared for future growth and expansion.

The Medical Faculty Associates building at 2300 M St., NW, which houses MFA physician offices and clinics, will be marketed by Cushman & Wakefield, a commercial real estate services firm, as a sale-leaseback, with the MFA leasing back 100 percent of the space. There will be no impact on practitioners or staff at the location. The MFA determined it will be better prepared for future growth and expansion if it no longer owns the building.

Barbara L. Bass, vice president for health affairs, dean of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences and CEO of the MFA, said that the high-quality level and delivery of services will not be impacted by this transition.

Investor interest for well-located medical office buildings is strong, said Bruno Fernandes, vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer, adding that proceeds from the sale of this real estate asset will help support the George Washington University’s medical enterprise and academic priorities.
