Rice Hall occupants will vacate the building by the end of 2018.

With redevelopment slated for the site of Rice Hall, some administrative units have found new homes on GW’s various campuses.

The Office of Sponsored Projects and Research Enhancement Unit—part of the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR)—recently moved to a centralized location in Enterprise Hall Suite 260 on the Virginia Science and Technology Campus.

The relocation is not expected to adversely affect the university research community and all other OVPR staff and offices remain on the Foggy Bottom campus.

Meanwhile, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, previously located on the second floor of Rice Hall, has moved to the Marvin Center second floor. The move brings admissions staff members closer to the Admissions Welcome Center, which is on the first floor of the Marvin Center, allowing them to be more responsive to campus visitors.

As more relocation plans are finalized over the fall semester, leaders of affected units will be communicating with their staffs about individual plans.

Some academic departments also have relocated. The Department of Geography, the Museum Studies Program and the Costume Shop (for Theater and Dance) are now located in Samson Hall, 2036 H St., NW.
