William Atkins

William is the senior university photographer for the George Washington University and captures a wide range of subjects and events.

Prior to joining GW in May 2009, William’s experience included freelance photography and serving as the lab manager in the photography department at Northern Virginia Community College. As a fine artist, William has exhibited his work in numerous galleries along the East Coast.

Born just outside of London, William has lived in the D.C. area for most of his life and spent time in Southern California. He received his bachelor’s degree in fine arts from George Mason University and can be found riding motorcycles whenever possible.
