Edward W. Gnehm, Jr., vice dean and Kuwait Professor of Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Affairs at the Elliott School of International Affairs, was appointed U.S. ambassador to Kuwait by former President George H. W. Bush. Mr. Gnehm shared his memories of the former president, who was remembered last week with a memorial service at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
