Vice President Visits Campus

Vice President Joe Biden spent part of his Thursday morning at the George Washington University, where he visited with volunteers at a 9/11 Day of Service event hosted by Points of Light, the Corporation for National and Community Service and Operation Gratitude. The vice president later stopped to say hello to GW students outside the Charles E. Smith Center.

"He's given us incredible strength," Sean Keefer's father, Chris Keefer, told members of the GW community who attended his son's memorial service on Friday.

Classmates, friends and professors write messages in the memorial celebration book. 'Rarely does one find such a vibrant mind invested in such a tender soul," reads one of the comments.

Sean Keefer was a freshman in the University Honors Program.

"Sean was a rock star," Seamus Kraft said on Friday, as he shared memories of Sean. Mr. Kraft was Sean Keefer's internship supervisor at OpenGov.
