The Concert for Valor

Events on Veterans Day, including The Concert for Valor scheduled to take place on the National Mall, will affect mass transportation and cause road closures in the area near the Foggy Bottom Campus on Tuesday.

The George Washington University is open on Veterans Day and operating on a normal schedule. Metro’s Blue Line will not operate and will be serviced by the Yellow Line. The Smithsonian Metro Station, served on normal days by the Blue, Orange and Silver lines, will be closed. Metrobus will operate on a Saturday schedule. Complete mass transit information is available via Metro’s website.

Event organizers anticipate nearly 800,000 attendees for the 7 p.m. concert. Several road closures on and around the National Mall from 3rd Street NW to 18th Street NW will go into effect beginning at 6 a.m. on Tuesday.

A full list of road closures is available on the National Park Service website. For GW-specific information, visit the university’s campus advisories page.
