Today, the university announced COVID-19 safety protocols for Our Moment, Our Momentum: GW Centuries Celebration Weekend in Washington, D.C., from October 1-3, 2021.
Protecting the health and safety of our community during the weekend is the university’s top priority. The updated safety protocols will be required for all attendees at events on- and off-campus as part of the celebration.
First, all guests, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to wear a mask for all indoor and outdoor events, unless guests are actively eating or drinking or can maintain at least six feet of social distance outdoors.
Second, every participant will be required to provide proof of vaccination (of an FDA- or WHO-approved vaccine) or a negative COVID-19 test result that is dated no more than 72 hours before arrival to weekend activities (you must be tested on or after Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021). This includes children under the age of 12, who also will be required to have proof of a negative COVID-19 test.
In advance of check-in, the first step registrants need to take is to attest in the registration system that the entire party is vaccinated or will be taking a COVID-19 test within the accepted time frame. At on-site check-in, all weekend participants will be required to provide their documentation and a government-issued photo ID to receive a credential that will provide access for all events during the weekend.
To update one’s registration with the attestation, go here and follow the instructions below. If guests are unwilling or unable to provide the documentation required, people can also follow the link to cancel the registration for the party.
- Once in the registration system, you will read a vaccination confirmation statement, asking you to self-certify that you and your party will be vaccinated or provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result within the required timeframe.
- You then must select a response for each of your registered guests, who will be listed on the same page.
We encourage all guests to complete their attestation no later than Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021.
Each individual participating in the weekend will need to provide documentation at on-site check-in at the University Student Center. On-site check-in will be open on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021 from 11 am-9 pm, and Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021 from 8am-8pm EDT. More information about on-site check-in can be found on the Centuries Weekend website.
Those who decline to provide proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test will not be able to receive credentials for the events taking place during the weekend, including Commencement.
