The following message was sent Wednesday to students of International House:

Dear International House Residents:

Last week, we wrote you with some disturbing news about swastikas in the lobby of the building. GWPD began an immediate investigation. Today, we want to report that the individual who was involved in this act has been identified. He is a GW student who was escorted into the building by another student. The matter has been referred for appropriate disciplinary action.

Please know that we take such matters very seriously. Our goal is that everyone in our community feels included and safe.

Security has been increased in the building and access will be monitored 24/7.

Anyone who sees suspicious behavior or has information is urged to call GWPD 202-994-6111. GW also operates a “TIPS” line at 202-994-TIPS (8477) to allow people to anonymously report concerns. Individuals also can report incidents using the GWPAL app.
