Maranda Ward, an assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Research and Leadership at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, has received the Miriam Friedman Ben-David Award from the Association for Medical Education in Europe. The award recognizes new educators who have made significant contributions in the field of health professions education at the local, national or international levels.

Ward was recognized for her consistent commitment to creating meaningful and transformative learning experiences. She is an expert in advancing anti-racism efforts within health sciences education and in designing curricula to enable students and faculty to competently promote health equity in practice. Her research focuses on stakeholder-engaged, community-focused studies in youth and among health science career trainees.
