GW is asking the university community to use the hashtags #GWCommencement, #OnlyatGW and #GWU to chronicle Commencement.

In front of family and friends, and in view of the nation’s most recognizable monuments, the college experience will culminate for thousands of George Washington University students at Commencement on Sunday—and the university’s social media team will help celebrate the occasion.

GW is asking the university community to use the hashtags #GWCommencement, #OnlyatGW and #GWU to chronicle Commencement, including the time leading up to and during exercises taking place on the National Mall.

Graduates, families, friends and members of the GW community are encouraged to share the significance of the day on social media, thank those who helped members of the Class of 2014 earn their degrees, or post a favorite quote from commencement speakers. The university will broadcast hashtagged content during the two hours leading up to Commencement as a way of telling the story of this graduating class.
