Laurie Koehler has been named senior associate provost for enrollment management at the George Washington University.
Ms. Koehler, currently the interim dean of enrollment and dean of admissions at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, will oversee undergraduate, graduate and international admissions; student financial assistance; the Registrar’s Office; Graduate Enrollment Management; and Graduate Student Support. She will start July 1.
“Laurie is the ideal candidate to lead our enrollment operations at George Washington,” said Steven Lerman, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. “Her experience and skills combined will move our university-wide enrollment planning and decision-making to the next level.”
During her tenure at Bryn Mawr, admissions experienced record high application numbers for three consecutive years. Under her leadership, the college became more selective and received an increased number of diverse international student applicants and enrolling students.
“I am honored and excited to join the George Washington University community in July,” Ms. Koehler said. “I have been so impressed by the staff, faculty and students I’ve met throughout the process, and I look forward to collaborating with them as we build on GW’s strengths and momentum.”
Previously, Ms. Koehler held leadership roles in admissions offices at Cornell University, Miami University and the University of Virginia. She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Virginia.
Ms. Koehler “will help GW build upon its existing success by bringing in an even more passionate, academically gifted and talented and diverse student body,” said Forrest Maltzman, senior vice provost for academic affairs and planning.
