The George Washington University School of Business has received a $4.8 million gift commitment to fund a new professorship in the school. The gift is a bequest from the donor’s estate.
GWSB Dean Linda Livingstone noted the importance of continuing to enhance support for faculty, including through new professorships.
“This endowed professorship will provide our outstanding faculty with significant resources as we continue to grow the body of meaningful scholarship and teaching excellence conducted at the GW School of Business,” Dr. Livingstone said. “We are deeply grateful for the generous gift and the impact it will have on the future of the school.”
The gift advances efforts of “Making History: The Campaign for GW,” which has raised more than $900 million toward its $1 billion goal. More than 20 new endowed professorships have been created during the campaign.
