The university community will gather on Wednesday at 7 p.m. to pay tribute to former GW student Taylor Hubbard, who tragically passed away last spring.

Kelli Noel and Dan Kane, friends of Mr. Hubbard’s, and GW President Steven Knapp will offer remarks at the memorial service, which will be held at Kogan Plaza. The service will include an open microphone for those who would like to share memories of Mr. Hubbard and a scripture reading and a homily by Father Greg Shaffer, chaplain at the Newman Catholic Student Center at GW.

“After meeting Taylor’s parents and a number of his friends, it is clear how much he meant to so many people both on this campus and beyond,” says Jason Lifton, president of the Student Association.

“The Student Association worked with the Student Activities Center and Taylor’s friends to outline meaningful ways to celebrate his life,” he says. “I think the memorial will be a nice way to celebrate his life and remember the contributions that he made to so many students at GW.”

GW engineering student Taylor Hubbard died May 16 from injuries he sustained after falling from the window of a GW residence hall. Mr. Hubbard, who had just finished his sophomore year at GW, was from Lexington Park, Md.
