D. Christopher Kayes, professor of management and chair of the Department of Management, will serve as interim dean of the School of Business, Provost Steven Lerman announced Wednesday.
“President Knapp and I are pleased Professor Kayes has agreed to take on this leadership role in an important time of transition,” said Dr. Lerman.
Dr. Kayes’ areas of expertise include management learning and change, learning styles, organizational development, and learning in groups and teams. He has been named a dean’s research scholar by the university twice and recognized by the Academy of Management for his contribution to the practice of management. Dr. Kayes has authored numerous articles in peer reviewed journals and scholarly books.
"This is a welcomed opportunity to work with outstanding faculty, students, staff, and community leaders. I look forward to continuing our culture of learning that fosters research, professional development and innovative teaching," said Dr. Kayes.
Dr. Lerman has requested that the School of Business initiate the search process for a new dean.
