George Washington President Steven Knapp will join more than 3,500 policymakers, journalists, business leaders and scholars at the Milken Institute’s 2015 Global Conference April 26 to 29 in Los Angeles. The event brings together some of the world’s most high-powered thinkers to discuss solutions for global challenges in fields ranging from business and finance to education, health and energy.
Dr. Knapp, Michael and Lori Milken Dean of Public Health Lynn R. Goldman and Bill Dietz, director of the Sumner M. Redstone Global Center for Prevention and Wellness, will each speak on panels at the conference.
The Milken Institute will post videos from the panel discussions on its YouTube channel and website throughout the four-day event. The GW community can engage with speakers and participants by following #MIGlobal on social media.

This panel will address the issues and opportunities associated with investing in wellness and changing our behavior to bolster health.
- The Future of Higher Education, featuring Dr. Knapp, 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. EDT, April 27
University presidents from public, private and community institutions join a key Department of Education leader to discuss how colleges are addressing rising tuition costs and the value of a college degree.
- The Business of Healthy, featuring Dr. Dietz, 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. EDT, April 28
Panelists will discuss how America can make healthy food and drink accessible and affordable to all.
