Lunar New Year is celebrated in a variety of ways by cultures throughout the Asian diaspora: as a 15-day celebration also known as the Spring Festival or Chūnjié in China, as Seollal in Korea and as Tết in Vietnam (where 2023 is the year of the cat, not the more popular rabbit). The George Washington University marked the occasion Wednesday as an audience gathered on Kogan Plaza for snacks, good cheer and a traditional lion dance performance. (Photos by William Atkins)
