The Division for Student Affairs’ annual springtime celebration, Buff & Bloom Week brought the George Washington University community together at events from April 6-11. This year’s theme, Buff & Bloom: For Good, incorporated a new philanthropic campaign benefiting World Central Kitchen, driven by student desire to make an impact in areas affected by humanitarian crises.

Kicking off with Taste of GW in Thurston Hall, attendees sampled pink and green mocktails, ate delicious spring-inspired food, and enjoyed a cherry blossom photo booth. Later in the week, students, faculty, and staff spent time outdoors for traditions new and old including the 45th annual Chalk-In and the third annual Pride at GW. Sophomores had a sweet celebration at Halfway to Graduation to mark the midway milestone on their GW journey.

Capping the week, GW Program Board’s Spring Fling brought an all-day festival in University Yard with local musicians, flower bouquet making, and glitter tattoos, followed by a concert in the Charles E. Smith Center headlined by rapper and songwriter Flo Milli, with an opening performance by rapper Shelailai.

With support from student organizations and leaders, including GW Program Board who donated all Spring Fling ticket proceeds, the Buff & Bloom: For Good campaign raised a total of $23,475 for World Central Kitchen.

GW photographers Cara Taylor, Sarah Hochstein, Jordan Tovin and Cooper Tyksinski captured photos throughout the week.
