The George Washington University now offers current and former students the opportunity to request official electronic transcripts directly through GWeb. Transcripts are securely delivered by email as a PDF.

The transition to electronic transcripts will make it easier to order and track the delivery of official transcripts, which can be requested 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Students with a Banner record will receive their transcripts by email in less than 10 minutes, while requests from alumni who attended GW before 1982 will be processed within one or two business days. Requesters will also receive real-time email alerts on the status of orders. The use of electronic transcripts promotes an environmentally friendly paperless process.

Electronic transcripts can be sent directly to admissions offices of graduate and professional schools by email, as well as to potential employers, study abroad programs or foundations offering scholarships and fellowships. Students may also request a transcript to be held until final semester grades have been submitted or until a degree is awarded.

Electronic transcripts will cost $8. If preferred, paper copies of official transcripts can be requested online for mail delivery or picked up at Colonial Central, located on the ground floor of the Marvin Center. Pricing varies depending on delivery method. Unofficial transcripts must be requested and picked up in person at Colonial Central.
