George Washington University President Thomas LeBlanc will continue a series of community meetings this week and next with students, faculty and staff.
One will take place at 8 p.m. Thursday on the Mount Vernon Campus in Ames Hall Room B101 and another is at noon Oct. 11 in Enterprise Hall Room 102 on the Virginia Science and Technology Campus.
All members of the university community are invited to attend and provide input on their aspirations for the university. Registration is encouraged but not required. Students, faculty and staff may also submit questions in advance.
At the events, Dr. LeBlanc will take questions from community members. In addition, Board of Trustees Chair Nelson A. Carbonell Jr., B.S. ’85, will make introductory remarks at the event on the Mount Vernon Campus and Trustee Madeleine S. Jacobs, B.S. ’68, HON ’03, will make welcoming remarks at the meeting on the Virginia Science and Technology Campus.
The meetings are among Dr. LeBlanc’s efforts to listen to and learn from members of the GW community and address their questions. He held three meetings in September on the Foggy Bottom Campus. Additionally, Dr. LeBlanc has met with students, greeted families on Move-In Day, talked with staff at campus events on the Foggy Bottom and the VSTC campuses and attended faculty and staff meetings. He also has met with neighbors and community leaders and chaired the first meeting of the 2017-18 Faculty Senate. Dr. LeBlanc also will host events for alumni across the country over the next 12 months. His first opportunity to interact with the broader alumni community is later this month during Colonials Weekend.
