GW Law Professor Nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for Armed Forces

President Donald Trump nominated GW Law Professor Gregory Maggs in an announcement Sept. 28.

The White House on Sept. 28 announced that President Donald Trump intends to nominate a GW Law professor to a federal judgeship.

If confirmed, Professor of Law Gregory E. Maggs will serve as a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.

Mr. Maggs, who has been at GW since 1993, is currently the Arthur Selwyn Miller Research Professor of Law and co-director of the National Security and U.S. Foreign Relations Law LL.M. Program. He was the interim dean of GW Law from 2010-2011 and from 2013-2014 and the senior associate dean for academic affairs from 2008-2010.

Mr. Maggs teaches and writes in the areas of constitutional law, counterterrorism, military justice and national security law. He also serves as a colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
