The George Washington University’s Lisner Auditorium announced it will add the “Newsmaker Series” to its 2013-14 season. The series is co-presented with Politics & Prose, an independent bookstore in Washington, D.C.
The “Newsmaker Series” will feature five high-profile authors, who will discuss their latest publications. The lineup includes Elizabeth Smart’s My Story on Oct. 10, John Heilemann and Mark Halperin’s Double Down on Nov. 7, Alan Dershowitz’s Taking the Stand on Nov. 11, Doris Kearns Goodwin’s The Bully Pulpit on Nov. 12 and Heraldo Muñoz’s Getting Away With Murder on Dec. 5.
“Launching this new series is a significant addition to our season,” said Maryann Lombardi, executive director and director of partnership development at Lisner. “Politics & Prose is an iconic D.C. cultural organization and we are excited to partner with them to bring important authors to the community to discuss their latest works.”
The “Newsmaker Series” schedule is as follows:
Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013 at 7 p.m.
Tickets: $25 for ticket, $35 for ticket and copy of My Story, $45 for two tickets and copy of My Story.
John Heilemann and Mark Halperin: Double Down
