GW Alumna Fara Moskowitz Named MCPS Middle School Counselor of the Year

George Washington University alumna Fara Moskowitz, M.A.’20, has been named the 2025 Montgomery County (Maryland) Public Schools (MCPS) Middle School Counselor of the Year.

Moskowitz began her school counseling career at Gaithersburg Middle School, where she worked from 2020 to 2023. She then joined the team at Robert Frost Middle School, where she continues to support students navigating academic, social and mental health challenges. Moskowitz is being recognized for her commitment to fostering student agency and ensuring access to critical resources.

A product of MCPS herself, Moskowitz brings a deep understanding of the pressures students face. The award highlights Moskowitz’s dedication to the mental and emotional well-being of her students and her impact within the MCPS community.
