Board of Trustees Elects New Member

The George Washington University Board of Trustees is welcoming a new member back to campus. Alumnus Raymond Joseph Brimble, M.A. ’76, is founder, CEO and chair of Lynxs Holdings, LLC, and other companies involved in aviation/aerospace, logistics, technology and the real estate and infrastructure supporting these sectors.

Based in Austin, Texas, Brimble is a businessman whose portfolio has combined entrepreneurial and managerial accomplishments over his 40-year career. As a young man of 22, he founded his first company and has founded more than 50 additional companies since then. His activities span four continents and range from oilfields and technology to logistics and aerospace. 

The Lynxs Group of companies develops and manages real estate related to aviation and aerospace. Lynxs has partnered with a variety of private and public companies, including GE Aerospace, St. Joe Company and the Williams Companies.

In 2017, Brimble established his own investment fund, Seed/Pod Holdings, which focuses on early-stage technology and real estate companies that have a measurable social impact. He is also a co-founder and majority shareholder of Scymaris, Ltd, a UK-based provider of scientific laboratory services intended to understand the chemical impact on the ecosystem. Scymaris was awarded the King’s Award for Excellence in International Trade in 2022.

Formerly, Brimble served in various capacities in a range of companies. He was president of Brimble Group of Companies from 1989 to 1994; founding partner of Loosbrock Offshore International from 1986 to 1992; president of Loosbrock World Trade and Supply from 1976 to 1992; and founding partner of Austin Cargoport Development. He also founded AirLogistix USA and was a partner at March Global Port in Riverside, Calif., a logistics and transportation center.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in international studies from the University of Texas at Austin in 1974 and, two years later, earned his master’s degree in international affairs from GW’s Elliott School of International Affairs. Brimble is a former faculty member at the McCombs School of Business of UT Austin, where he also chaired the board of advisors for the school’s Center for Global Business. Brimble was inducted into the McCombs School of Business Hall of Fame in 2024.
