GW’s Honey Nashman Center for Civic Engagement will be relocated this spring to its new home in the new Hillel Building at 2300 H Street. The Nashman Center offices will be on the third and fourth floors of the new building.
“We are excited to move to this bright and welcoming space,” said Amy Cohen, executive director of the Nashman Center. “The building will serve as a gateway to campus, improving the Center’s ability to fulfill our mission as a crossroads for community-university partnerships. In addition, Hillel's strong commitment to service and racial equity dovetails with the work of the Nashman Center, and we look forward to expanding our work together on these issues.”
Following the move, the university plans to replace the current site with green space. GW has begun the permitting process.
The space, adjacent to Rome and Phillips Halls, is part of a site that was previously approved for development during the 20-year timeframe of the 2007 Foggy Bottom Campus Plan. The site will be integrated with existing adjacent green space to create an enlarged outdoor space for community use.
