On Wednesday, September 1, I participated in a memorial service for beloved George Washington student Taylor Hubbard. In my unscripted and heartfelt remarks, remembering how I had met Taylor and his family on Move-In Day when he first arrived, I mistakenly said that Taylor was a freshman rather than a sophomore at the time of his death. As the rest of my comments indicated, Taylor’s loss was made all the more painful to our university community by his deep love of GW and the many ways he had affected everyone around him during the time we were privileged to have him among us. I regret the error and apologize for any additional pain it may have given Taylor’s many friends, including those who spoke about him so eloquently during the service.
