Nick Erickson

Nick is the managing editor for GW Today, overseeing day-to-day operations for the online publication that is distributed three times a week via email newsletter to the GW community, as well thousands of subscribers. In his previous role as writer/editor and later senior writer/editor, he covered the Division for Student Affairs, Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and university news. Nick joined the GW Today staff in fall 2021. 

He received his bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2015 and his master's degree in media and strategic communication from the George Washington University's School of Media and Public Affairs in 2025. Nick wrote for several Wisconsin daily newspapers before moving to higher-ed communications. He also has published work at the National Voting Rights Museum and Institute in Selma, Alabama.
