Need a quick gift that shows how proud you are of a new graduate? The George Washington Museum and The Textile Museum shop has got you covered. George Washington Today spent the day browsing the shelves with Director of Retail Operations Chabrina Williams, who helped put together a gift guide with plenty of pomp and circumstance. Check out the items below:

cuffs
D.C. Cufflinks, $58
Help a new grad enter the professional world with a few tricks up his or her sleeve. These cufflinks come designed with D.C. coordinates, putting campus just an arm’s length away. The face of each cufflink is about the size of a dime, and pin closures allow for secure wear.

purse

Foil Zip Pouch, $60
Add some sparkle to graduation with this leather zip-top pouch. This glossy bag fits neatly under a Commencement gown and can be used to store essentials, like your phone, wallet and cosmetics. The only thing it’s not designed to hold is a shiny new diploma—sorry!

glass
D.C. Glass, $14

SoLA, or Sisters of LA, are known for their city-centric creations. Their D.C.-inspired glass, which includes an urban-scape design by architect Barbara Besto, will let graduates toast to the nation’s capital.

journal

Christian Lacroix Ombre Paseo Sticky Note Folio, $15

Your loved one doesn’t have to take notes in class anymore, but they can still stay on top of things with this embossed folio journal from Parisian designer Christian Lacroix. The folios come with sticky notes in four different colors for maximum organization.

ties

Ties, $58

These hand-block printed Harshita ties will help grads face the real world with style. Each design is printed on luxurious silk charmeuse. Ties are 20 by 80 inches.

letters

Letters to Graduate, $15
Looking for the right words to say to someone who’s just completed a college career? This book is filled with 12 prompted letters that help family and friends offer congratulations, advice and wishes for the future. Fun stationary and little stamps let you seal up your note like a paper capsule that graduates can remember always.

ramen

Ramen Sticky Notes, $8
Nothing says “college” like instant ramen, and these sticky notes pay homage to everyone’s favorite ubiquitous dorm dish. Use them to write grown-up grocery lists that hopefully no longer include microwave instant noodles.

The shop does offer domestic and international shipping. To place an order, you can call 202-833-1285, email [email protected] or visit the shop during the museum's public hours.
