Students, parents and children of all ages packed GW’s Lisner Auditorium Nov. 15 to celebrate 40 years of Sesame Street. Muppeteers Kevin Clash, Leslie Carrara-Rudolph and Fran Brill brought Sesame Street favorites Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Zoe and Prairie Dawn on stage to share stories and video clips of the show from the past 40 years.

After the show, audience members had the opportunity to meet the Muppets and have their picture taken.

Created by Jim Henson, Sesame Street premiered on Nov. 10, 1969 and is the longest running children’s program on U.S. television.
