Herman Aguinis

Herman Aguinis, the Avram Tucker Distinguished Scholar and professor of management at GW Business, was named one of the most productive and dominant authors of strategic leadership research from the past four decades, according to an analysis published in a recent issue of the “Journal of Business Research.”

Strategic leadership research is the study of the governance, leadership approaches and decisions of executives at the highest levels of an organization. The study, "The State of the Art of Strategic Leadership," used information science methods to assess the performance, topics and themes of strategic leadership research articles and their respective researchers from across the past four decades. To conduct their analysis, the study's authors drew from 6,024 documents, which they believe may be one of the largest such efforts for strategic leadership research conducted to date.

Aguinis was ranked fourth among researchers for most “publication productivity on strategic leadership” between 2011–2020 and 12th for the period from 1980–2020. He was ranked as fourth for researchers with the most “dominance on strategic leadership” for the period between 1980–2020.
