Karen Outen, the senior associate director of publications and marketing at the George Washington University School of Law, published her new book, “Dixon, Descending.” The book tells the stories of two brothers and their goal of becoming the first Black, American men to summit Mt. Everest.
The brothers, determined to prove something to themselves and each other, are met with a difficult, tragic journey. The book touches on ambition, survival, and our responsibility toward one another. Outen will tour several cities discussing her book, including on Feb. 6 at Politics and Prose, located at 5015 Connecticut Avenue North West, in Washington D.C.
