The George Washington University Medical Enterprise will begin drive-through testing for COVID-19 Monday. Testing will be conducted only by appointment, after a physician has spoken with the patient and has deemed a test is appropriate. The initiative is in partnership with the District of Columbia and based on citywide need.

Drive-through testing is an accessible and convenient method for those who believe they might have or have been exposed to COVID-19, enabling individuals and their physicians to determine whether they need to seek appropriate medical care.

“As the COVID-19 health care crisis continues to evolve, we are committed to offering critical resources, such as this drive-through testing, for our community,” said Barbara L. Bass, CEO of the GW Medical Faculty Associates, dean of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences and GW vice president for health affairs. “As we navigate the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to remind the D.C. metropolitan community that GW MFA doctors and health care providers are working hard to provide care and support them during this time.”

To schedule a video or phone consultation to be evaluated by a GW physician, please call 202-741-2765. The line will be open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Physicians may also follow the instructions at http://www.gwcovid19testing.com to procure patients a referral for testing.
