The university will hold a forum Thursday in the Jack Morton Auditorium to discuss safety and security on campus and answer audience questions. All GW community members are welcome.

“We want to hear from the community. We want to answer their questions, discuss what’s working and what we can do better,” said Darrell Darnell, senior associate vice president for safety and security. “We have several topics we would like to address, but our ultimate goal is to listen and to make ourselves available.”

The forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a brief presentation by Mr. Darnell. A panel of university administrators will address high priority issues affecting safety and security on campus, including alcohol, residence hall security and sexual assault.

Panelists will include Kevin Hay, chief of the GW Police Department; George Nunez, director of emergency management; William Flint, director of health and safety; Peter Konwerski, senior associate provost and dean of student affairs; Tara Pereira, director of campus inclusion initiatives and deputy Title IX coordinator; and Alexis Janda, associate director for the Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Education.

The forum will be webcast and GW community members can submit questions online and watch the livestream here.
