George Washington University alumnus Patrick Wohl, B.A. ’16, wrote a book titled, “Down Ballot: How A Local Campaign Became A National Referendum on Abortion.” The book outlines how a 1990 Chicago race for the Republican Party nomination for state representative between Penny Pullen and Rosemary Mulligan unexpectedly became a national proxy battle over abortion in the United States.
Wohl is a former campaign staffer on races for president, governor, state senate, state representative and on ballot initiatives across the country. His work has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, The Hill, Washington Examiner, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Chicago Sun-Times and other outlets.
