Erik Schelzig, M.A. ’99,  published the book “Welcome to Capitol Hill.” The book is a guide to political scandals throughout Tennessee's modern history. It chronicles major events including Gov. Ray Blanton’s pardon scandals to the FBI investigation that started with now Lt. Gov. Randy McNally wearing a wire in the late 1980s.  

 

Schelzig was named the editor of the Tennessee Journal in 2018 after 12 years as an Associated Press statehouse correspondent in Nashville, where he chronicled the state’s changeover from Democratic to Republican control. Schelzig has a master’s degree in political science from GW.
