George Washington University alumna, Gina Abercrombie Winstanley, B.A. '80, has been nominated by President Joe Biden to join the National Security Education Board. Ambassador Winstanley has a distinguished 30-year career in diplomacy, including roles as ambassador to the Republic of Malta, the deputy coordinator for counterterrorism and the foreign policy advisor to the commander of U.S. Cyber Forces.
Abercrombie-Winstanley, a Cleveland native, has degrees from George Washington University and Johns Hopkins University. She was a co-founder of The Leadership Council for Women in National Security and an active board member for several organizations, including the International Career Advancement Program. In 2019, she was voted into the American Academy of Diplomacy.
