George Washington University alumna Robyn Wehrly, M.A.’24, was named Teacher of the Year in Pasadena Unified School District in California.
Wehrly is a special education teacher at Octavia E. Butler Magnet Dual Language STEAM Middle School. The award is a collaborative program of the Rotary Club of Pasadena and the Pasadena Unified School District to honor teachers who have gone above and beyond in the classroom and inspired a joy of learning in students.
Wehrly graduated from the University of Michigan with degrees in psychology and English. After working in residential care, she obtained her master’s degree in special education at GW. She currently teaches math and science at Octavia E. Butler Magnet.
