GW Alumna Named One of Tennessee’s People of the Year

Glenda Baskin Glover, Ph.D. ’90, was named as a Person of the Year by the Tennessee Tribune for 2023. Glover serves as president of Tennessee State University, a position she has held since 2013. Glover was the first woman to hold the position. She is also a certified public accountant and attorney. 

In 2022, President Joe Biden appointed Glover to serve as vice chair of the President’s Board of Advisors on Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Glover is a member of several professional, civic and non-profit organizations. She is also the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the prestigious Thurgood Marshall College Fund Education Leadership Award as the 2018 HBCU President of the Year.
