George Washington University alumna Gillian Marcelle, M.B.A. '87, has been named to Forbes's list of 50 Over 50: Investment, which highlights the women shaping the way money flows in the United States and beyond. She was named to the list for her influential work in blended finance and advancing diversity, inclusion and alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
Marcelle is the founder and CEO of Resilience Capital Ventures. In a previous role as the executive director, she has helped turn around an economic development agency in the United States Virgin Islands, doubling the number of incoming investors and raising more than $5 million in social impact grants.
The agency produced economic value estimated at investment to $70 million per annum for the U.S. territory.
Marcelle started her career in mergers and acquisitions for British telecom giant BT Group and then went on to work for JPMorgan and the private sector arm of the World Bank.
