Princess Daazhraii Johnson, BA '97, was honored by Grist as a climate leader helping address the biggest issues facing the planet.

Johnson, who is Neets’aii Gwich’in, grew up on tribal lands in Alaska. That experience helped her gain an appreciation for the connection between humans and the natural world. She is a writer and former creative producer for the PBS animated show “Molly of Denali,” which was the network’s first kids’ show to center Indigenous culture. Johnson works alongside a team of creatives to instill what she believes are critical environmental values while providing Indigenous creative spaces for the next generation.
