Custom-made, sustainable graduation cords for students in the sustainability minor program.

This year, the GW Alliance for a Sustainable Future offered a unique gift to students in the sustainability minor program: custom-made, sustainable graduation cords.

Working with the  GW Office of Sustainability and local community partners, the GW Alliance for a Sustainable Future collected textiles that could not be resold and were headed for landfills to produce the graduation cord material. Using these materials, the D.C.-based Black Squirrel Company crafted the sustainable graduation regalia to represent the four pillars of the Sustainability Minor and the unique courses each student can choose to complete their program requirements.
