Robert J. Froehlich, a research associate professor in the George Washington School of Education and Human Development, is the president-elect of the Virginia Counselors Association (VCA) for 2025 and will serve as president in 2026. VCA, founded in 1930, supports counselors across Virginia through advocacy, education and professional development.

Froehlich has provided rehabilitation counseling services since the early 1990s and has been a rehabilitation counselor educator for more than 20 years. With years of national experience in counselor training and technical assistance, Froehlich’s expertise spans ethics, career development and rehabilitation leadership. His research interests include ethics in counseling and counselor training needs.
